Y’all. It’s been a year. It’s been a year. Do you even remember that there were two assassination attempts on Donald Trump’s life? Do you even recall Dune 2? (Awards committees certainly don’t seem to smh). Beyonce dropped a record, Taylor Swift dropped like three in one, and everyone was calling things “brat” unironically. 2024 was about twenty years long.
It’s been time to wrap things up.
*a note: i am only mentioning media that was released in 2024. i have many favorites from this year that fall outside that time frame, but to keep things neat and tidy, i’ll just stick to the year.
FAVORITE ALBUM OF 2024
COWBOY CARTER, Beyonce: She’s one of one, she’s the only one. This can’t come as a surprise to anyone. Beyonce is the artist of my life and afterlife, and as Apple Replay kindly informed me, I couldn’t stop listening to her newest release. Renaissance, as a project, resonates slightly more, but in the “Great Track Ranking” list I’m keeping, CC has more hits. To me!

Only Living Girl in LA, Halsey: The album, like this song, arrived in the perfect season for me to receive it.

FAVORITE MOVIE OF 2024:
Challengers, Luca Guadagnino: Baby! Saw this in theaters three times and it wasn’t enough. This was THEE movie for me this year. Not a single minute, movement, or moment wasted. The fact that all three of them are getting more awards attentions? Criminal!
